Baby Sleeping Tips - Easy Remedies For Baby Sleep Problems

Love Baby Love Sleep

Are there evenings when you feel that your baby's sleeping patterns will never be regulated? Can you dream a time when your baby will sleep long enough for the two of you to feel refreshed and rested? Parents know that there is no way to avoid the occasional night in the nursery rocker, but how can we keep those nights with baby sleeping very minute or not at all to a bare minimum?

A tasteless ask that new parents ask is, "How long will it be before we can get baby sleeping on a schedule?" or "When will we be able to sleep straight through the night without waking up a dozen times?" Does this sound like you on your last visit to the pediatrician? Some lucky parents brag that they have never been plagued with sleep problems at all but the sass to those tasteless questions according to the experts is that the midpoint time when babies start sleeping straight through the night is a year or so.

When you are sleep deprived and can hardly keep your eyes open the last thing you want to hear is that you will have to wait a year or more for relief. Some desperate moms have even questioned why there are sleeping pills for grownups and no baby sleeping aids or remedies. I believe in the natural arrival to parenting whenever possible, but I have to admit succumbing to panic due to exhaustion myself. However, I knew that I needed methods to help my baby sleep naturally. In my hunt I found a few things that worked and I am more than happy to share my methods with you.

The first chapter may be easiest and yet the most important: don't wait until a few minutes before bedtime to start fretting about how to get baby to sleep. I found that the best way to get an child to sleep at night starts with a habit that's put into institution as early as possible.

(1. Found the nursery to be an ideal sleep environment. Originate a space that can be darkened verily straight through the use of room darkening window treatments.

(2. Find the nursery in a quiet part of your home and have some formula of creating white noise to block out street traffic and household chatter.

(3. Take time to read the telltale signs that your baby is sleepy. When baby gets fussy or when your see the eyelids droop, stop what you are doing and kick off the bedtime routine. Don't miss this opportunity or you may regret it. Babies can go from the drowsy stage to hyperactive, unhappy creatures with a second wind in report time. If there ever was an instance in parenting when timing is important, this could be it.

Every mother's process for relaxing her baby is unique, there is no definite set of rules for what should be involved. Anything your baby sleeping habit works out to be; stick to it. Try not to vary from it from day to day. The best way to an ideal baby sleep routine, relies on mom having a routine.
You will have a calmer and more definite child if you are so predictable that baby always knows exactly what happens next.

(4. Stick closely to a schedule. Have a definite time that you dress baby for the crib. A mum whose newborn had an erratic sleeping pattern shared with me that she stuck to a rigid habit for over a week and approximately crumbled more than once. Then approximately magically the baby began to sass and started to stick with an early bedtime.

(5. If baby seems unhappy or fussy, many mothers have had excellent results with baby slings. It makes sense that some babies need some time to adjust to the world. These sensitive souls miss the appeal of your body and feeling close to you at all times. Maybe the use of a sling will get you straight through this period of adjustment and allow you to get a few chores done while you're at it.

(6. Someone else way to ease baby into our strange world is with white noise. There are white noise machines that closely mimic the sounds that are tasteless in your womb, but if your funds is tight a table fan may do the trick.

(7. How many nights have we put our minute ones to sleep only to have them get wide awake, when they feel the change in climatic characteristic from our arms to the cold crib sheet? A clarification to this baby sleep qoute is to put a warm water bottle inside the baby's bed as part of your bedtime routine. When the time comes for you to put baby into her crib, take off the water bottle and slip baby into the warm and cozy crib.

The list of baby sleeping tips could go on and on. What works for one baby might not furnish results with another. However, calm, loving persistence and repetition will be the basic building blocks for developing your newborn's regular sleeping patterns that will relax her and let both of you start sleeping like a baby.

Disclaimer: This report is strictly for informational purposes only. It should not replace healing guidance from your pediatrician or chosen professional. You should always make choices on the guidance of your chosen expert in matters about your baby's condition and safety.

This is assuredly correct. Nobody would want to start the day with the wrong foot. Experts now believe that for a someone to start the day right, one essential thing is that he must have slept comfortably the night before. We always join together comfortable sleeping with a good mattress, pillows and everything. But we often forget one prominent thing and that is the way we sleep. Sleep positioning plays a huge factor in achieving a good night's sleep.

Studies quote that permissible sleep positioning relieves back and sciatic pain. Majority of working individuals have already experienced back pain at some point in their lives. The most likely causes are improper posture at work and while sleep.

Sciatic nerve is the longest nerve in the human body. It starts from the lower back, down the buttocks, legs and knees. Because it starts from the lower back and extends until our lower limbs, our sleeping position also affects this nerve manufacture our night very long and uncomfortable. There is also what we refer to as Sciatica which refers to the pain, numbness and tingling sensation in the leg. Improper sleep positioning worsens all of sciatica's symptoms as well.

Let us now take a look at some expert-recommended sleeping positions as well as which positions to avoid relieving back and sciatic pain:

1. Do not sleep on your stomach. This position only increases the pressure on our spine because it exaggerates the arch on your lower back thereby addition pressure or strain causing back pain.

2. On your side in a fetal position. This is probably the best position for sleeping because it relieves most of the strain or stress on the back. Make sure to properly lie on your side, make a fetal position putting a pillow in between your legs to ensure a restful night.

3. On your back. If this is your style, then there must be a big, fluffy and comfortable pillow under your knees. This way, most of the strain is kept away from the lower back and sciatic nerve. This position maintains the general curve of the back as well.

There are also simple and safe exercises to help comfort back pain. Here are three easy habit that you can do every day for just 15 minutes:

1. Knee bending - do some simple and diplomatic knee bending exercise. To be safe and just in case you have knee issues, pull up a chair or stand in front of a table and hold onto it for support. Stand straight, shoulders relaxed slowly inhaling and exhaling. slowly bend the knees while pulling up your heels in the process to comfort tensions on the knees while supporting the lower back as well. Do five to ten repetitions. Avoid over straining the knees and back.

2. Hip twist or Hip rolls - a simple and straight forward practice we've seen a merge of times being done in aerobic classes. Stand firmly, legs apart. Tighten the abdominal muscles and put your hands on your hips. Rotate the hips alternately counter-clockwise and then clockwise, five counts each. Breathe ordinarily while doing this exercise.

3. Waist twist - also a straight forward practice just like the hip roll. Stand straight, feet apart and hands placed on your sides. Start twisting to the right with hands itsybitsy raised towards the shoulders. Do the same going to the left. This will stretch and practice the lower back as well as the shoulders. Make sure to breath slowly in and out and not to over stretch to preclude from straining the hips and the back.

A good sleep positioning along with easy simple practice to comfort back and sciatic pain can assuredly contribute to manufacture the start of your day right. Remember to avow permissible posture at all times; while walking, working, sitting and most importantly sleeping.

Bowen therapy was industrialized by an Australian named Tom Bowen. The government-commissioned Webb description in 1975 reported Tom Bowen attending some thirteen thousand patients annually with an 80-90% success rate, regularly in only one or two sessions.

Benefits: Colic; Asthma; wholesome functioning of all organs and systems, especially the nervous, respiratory, digestive and alimentary (elimination) systems; promotes bonding between parents and baby.

How Often: May accomplish Baby Bowen Moves as often as needed (at the first sign of your baby's discomfort) for the first six-weeks after birth, or weekly as a inhibitive and for Well Baby Care.

Baby Bowen Procedure, Part I

The first 4 moves are made on your baby's back, between her/his shoulder blades.

Your baby lays face down, on her/his stomach, or if there are two of you one may hold the baby with her/his chest facing you while the other one performs the first 2 Baby Bowen Moves.

Baby Bowen Moves

1. All the time begin by doing your first Baby Bowen Move on the Left side. Place the pad of your Right thumb flat on top of the muscles lying along the Left side of your baby's spine. Your Right thumb is just above the bottom angle of your baby's Left shoulder blade.

Think of your Baby Bowen Move like turning on a light switch.

2. Now immediately accomplish the next Baby Bowen Move by reaching across your baby's spinal column and placing the Right pad of your index finger atop the muscles along your baby's spine.

Now with the pad of your Right index finger, pull your index finger Toward your baby's spine, move moderately with even, gentle pressure across the muscles, the pad of your Right index finger will flatten as you accomplish the move.

3. You will immediately corollary these first two moves with two more in the same exact sequence and locations except in the opposite direction, Away from your baby's spine.

Place the pad of your Right index finger, flat on top of the muscles along the left side of your baby's spine, and push the skin away towards your baby's spine, as far as it will go.

Gently press down and in with the pad of your Right index finger, hooking your finger tip slightly, press moderately on the muscles, activating the nerve endings for a 3-second challenge.

Now with the pad of your Right index finger, pull your index finger away from your baby's spine, move moderately with even, gentle pressure across the muscles, the pad of your index finger will flatten as you accomplish the move.

4. Now immediately accomplish the next Baby Bowen Move by reaching across your baby's spinal column and placing the Right pad of your thumb atop the muscles along your baby's spine.

Again you must first get into the accurate position for performing your Baby Bowen Move by moderately pulling with the pad of your index finger, to move the skin toward your baby's spine as far as it will go.

At this end point you will moderately press down and in with the pad of your Right index finger, hooking the bottom edge of your thumb slightly. Remember to hold this gateway entry position for a 3-second challenge.

Now with the pad of your Right thumb, push Away from your baby's spine, move moderately with even, gentle pressure across the muscles, the pad of your Right thumb will flatten as you accomplish the move.

Feel the breath, in and out, get in sync and on an out breath accomplish the following move.

Baby Bowen Move: With the Right pad of your middle finger, moderately draw your baby's skin up toward the tip of her/his xiphoid process, then press moderately down and in, hooking your finger tip and pulling downward with gentle, light touch pressure then flatten your finger.

Sleep Wrinkles - Preventing and Repairing Them

Love Baby Love Sleep

As we age, the appearance of sleep wrinkles, those facial lines that fabricate from sleeping with your face against a pillow, becomes much more prominent. This should come as no surprise if you consider how much of one's life is spent sleeping. If you are getting the recommended 8 hours of sleep per night, you sleep 1/3 of your life. Consequently, by age 60, you will have slept 20 years. It is definite why sleeping on our face at last leads to creases that come to be constantly etched in the outside of the skin. Sleep wrinkles are much easier to preclude than they are to repair. As a result, you should make every endeavor to keep from getting them in the first place.

The most efficient and least costly recipe for preventing sleep wrinkles is to sleep on your back. Population who sleep in this position plainly do not fabricate these wrinkles. Chinese women recognized this fact ages ago, and always slept on their backs using concave porcelain pillows. If you are unaccustomed to sleeping in this position, you might try placing a pillow under you knees to decrease stress on the lower back and growth your comfort.

If you are unable to sleep on your back, using a pillow that minimizes facial wrinkling is an additional one possibility. Sleep on a big, soft, non-synthetic pillow that you are able to fluff and squish. Those with natural fill, such as down and feathers, offer the most comfort, long-term performance, and adjustability. This type of pillow supports the head while providing softness, eliminating pressure points, and addition facial circulation to reduce squashing and sleep wrinkles. There are also pillows available made specifically for preventing sleep wrinkles. They withhold the head while retention the face and eye tissue away from the pillow.

Choosing the exact pillowcase on which to sleep can also deter the formation of sleep creases. If you awaken with these unsightly lines in the morning, your cotton pillowcase may be to blame. Instead of cotton, sleep on a silk or satin pillowcase that allows your face to slide over the pillow thereby minimizing skin wrinkling. an additional one selection for not only preventing sleep lines, but also repairing those which you already have, is to use a copper technology pillowcase. It is imbedded with copper micro fibers which serve to heal your skin as you sleep. Copper has been proven to stimulate collagen output thereby helping reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles.

Unfortunately, if you already have sleep wrinkles, they may be difficult to alleviate. As we age, our skin loses its elasticity. When the skin becomes creased while sleeping, it no longer readily snaps back when the head is not resting on the pillow, as it did when we were younger. Since these wrinkles are not the result of muscle contractions, such as worry lines or crow's feet, products with Botox-like benefits are ineffective. In order to exact them, new collagen needs to form under the wrinkles to push up the skin from below. There are many skin care products on the shop that include various peptides that promote the formation of collagen. If topical formulations are ineffective, you might want to consult your dermatologist about a wrinkle filler such as Restylane.

Mom and Baby at 14 Weeks Pregnant

Love Baby Love Sleep

Baby Development

During this first week of your second trimester, your baby is growing quite fast. He/she is nearby 3.4 inches from crown to rump (the top of your baby's head to his bottom) and weighs practically 1.5 ounces. That's pretty remarkable, considering that your baby was only 3 inches long last week.

Your baby continues to grow at a fine rate in the second trimester. In fact, did you know that by 19 weeks, your baby will have doubled his/her size? At 14 weeks pregnant, your baby's head is larger than the rest of his/her body. It unmistakably accounts for half of your baby's total length. Not to worry, though. His/her body will soon catch up. Your minuscule one's facial features are becoming more defined this week. The baby's eyes and ears are fascinating to their final positions, and his/her eyebrows are also growing. during reproduction week 14, your baby's neck is elongating and his/her chin is beginning rise up off the chest. The yolk sac that provided your baby's source of nourishment in the first trimester is practically completely gone, and your minuscule one now gets everything he/she needs from the placenta.

Fun Fact:
Your baby can now pee! By 14 weeks, your minuscule one's bladder empties every 30 minutes. Since your baby is constantly swallowing amniotic fluid (which gets filtered out through his/her kidneys), passing urine is a fact of life for him/her.

Mom'S reproduction Symptoms

Now that you're in your second trimester, you may start to consideration that some of the annoying reproduction symptoms that you experienced in the first 13 weeks have disappeared, such as your morning sickness and fatigue. Since you have more power in the second trimester, you may want to tour or take a vacation while you can. (Fatigue will come back to haunt you in the final leg of your pregnancy.)

Although you will feel much great in the second trimester, you may start to touch new reproduction symptoms. Tasteless complaints that pregnant women in the second trimester have contain water retention, gas, heartburn, and backaches.

As you get larger in your pregnancy, you should expect backaches. Over 50 percent of all women touch back pain at some point during pregnancy. They are due to the extra strain that your growing uterus places on your back muscles. You may feel lower back pain when you're standing, sitting, or even when you're in bed.

Another very Tasteless indication of illness to expect at 14 weeks pregnant is gas. Pregnant women are often more "gassy" than their non-pregnant counterparts. Gas during reproduction is caused by the elevated levels of the hormone progesterone in your body. Progesterone actual relaxes your gastrointestinal tract and slows down your digestive processes. So expect to touch more gas, bloating, and flatulence during pregnancy.

Fun Fact:
At 14 weeks pregnant, your physician can now feel the top of your uterus (called the "fundus"). From this point onward, your physician will feel the fundus at every prenatal visit to make sure that your baby is growing properly.

Pregnancy 411

Back Pain during Pregnancy

In the second trimester, as you continue to pack on the pounds and your uterus grows larger, you will touch backaches to some degree. (Depending on your pain tolerance, you may feel more pain than the next woman.) Back pain during reproduction is very common, and it's no wonder. Your uterus can develop as much as 1,000 times its former size by the time your baby is born!

There are many reasons for back pain or backaches during pregnancy. In some cases, it's caused by the extra weight of uterus placing strain on your muscles and adding stress to your joints. That's why your back may feel achier at the end of the day. In some cases, your addition uterus may press on a nerve and this causes discomfort. If you have weak abdominal muscles, this can also cause pain in your lower back.

Although backaches are uncomfortable and often an unchangeable reproduction symptom, you may be able to ease your pain by following these tips:

Wear low-heeled shoes that have good arch support. (Not flats) Do not lift heavy objects, if possible. Ask someone to do heavy lifting for you. If you have to stand for long periods of time, you should keep one foot elevated on a stool or box. Sleep on a firm mattress. If your bed is too soft, have your husband/partner or friend place a board between the box spring and mattress. If you need to pick something up off the ground, do not bend from the waist. Instead, you should squat down and bend your knees. Sleep on your side with a reproduction pillow, or a keep pillow, between your legs. When you're sitting down, make sure that the chair has good back support. You may want to place a pillow behind your lower back for extra support.

Back pain should never be severe, as this can indicate a problem. Call your physician if you have severe pain or pain that lasts longer than two weeks. Sometimes, back pain is a sign of reproduction complications, especially if it's accompanied with fever, burning when you urinate, or vaginal bleeding.

Baby Bad Breath

Love Baby Love Sleep

Most babies have sweet smelling breath, but occasionally baby bad breath does occur. It can be a particular question upon waking, after the baby has been asleep for a few hours - like morning breath in adults. During sleep, the mouth is typically relaxed and motionless, there is decreased saliva production, and bacteria that live in the mouth cavity have an chance to multiply undisturbed. Some of these bacteria can furnish the unpleasant odor we join together with bad breath, and when they multiply to adequate numbers, the odor becomes detectable.

If you think that "morning breath" is causing bad breath in baby, try treating it by cleansing the mouth before putting baby down for a nap. If baby is very young and has no teeth, encourage a water rinse to flush traces of method or bits of food out of cracks and crevices. If baby has teeth, a diplomatic brushing and a rinse should help. Rinsing and brushing upon waking can be helpful too. (Fluoridated toothpastes should be used very sparingly in young children, and brushing should always be supervised even when your child is old adequate to begin brushing on her own.) If these measures comfort the baby bad breath, you needn't do more.

However, if bad breath in baby persists after brushing and cleansing, there may be other problem. Does baby use a soother or habitually suck on some other object like a blanket or stuffed toy? An object that is continually put into the mouth gets coated with saliva and oral bacteria and can design an unpleasant odor. Though the smell may not be obnoxious to your child, it can conduce to lingering bad odors in the vicinity of baby, and to baby bad breath. The easy clarification is to wash or replace the offending item regularly. Eventually, your child will give up the sucking habit and the question will disappear on its own.

Occasionally bad breath in baby has a more sinister cause. If your efforts to solve the question are fruitless, you should consult your pediatrician or family doctor. The physician will check for signs of throat or sinus infection, infection somewhere in the mouth, tooth decay, or a foreign object lodged in a nasal passage. Sinus congestion can conduce to baby bad breath as well, by causing baby to breathe straight through the mouth: dry mouth is a cause of breath odor in both children and adults because saliva is simply antibacterial and, in a wholesome mouth, it keeps the habitancy of odor causing bacteria at a minimum.

Once again, baby bad breath is relatively unusual: if easy measures don't solve the problem, your child should be seen by a curative expert to rule out more serious problems.

How To recognize Overfeeding Baby Symptoms

Love Baby Love Sleep

It is wholly natural for newborn babies to nurse all the time. Even if they are full, infants will continuously ask to be fed every now and then. Because of this, some mothers find it very hard to tell when to continue or to stop nursing.

However, this is one trait that all new mothers should institute as over feeding your babies can lead to quite a whole of problems. So if you need a hand, here are some of the most base overfeeding baby symptoms that you should look out for in your infants.

One of the most clear overfeeding baby symptoms is unusually frequent bowel movement. Babies aged one month or older ordinarily remove their bowels twice a day. Those who do so more often than this might be overfed. Some overweight infants can have six or more stools a day. Apart from that, green, watery and explosive stools are also very base signs of overfeeding.

Naturally, an overfed baby tends to be overweight. Normally, babies can gain one pound of body weight per week. Gaining weight beyond this can be a inherent sign of overfeeding. So be very mindful of this every time you go on that habit doctor's check-up. Or better yet, make it a habit to monitor your baby's weight at home as often as you possibly can.

The milk contribute of the mom can also be used as a gauge to tell if the baby is overfed or not. Mothers with over abundant milk contribute are most likely over feeding their babies. These mothers ordinarily have a very strong milk ejection reflex and can spurt out milk at larger amounts than normal. This can cause the baby to gag and swallow air, which can finally lead to stomach pains and colic. One good way to collate overproduction of milk is by pumping out the milk with the use of a breast pump. However, the type of breast pump used and the time of the day that the milk is taken can largely work on the volume extracted.

Frequent crying and bad temper are also base overfeeding baby symptoms. An overfed baby is often grumpy and will steadily gain weight at a very short duration of time. They are also very irritable and may have issue sleeping. Babies ordinarily love to be nursed by their mothers. Overfeeding however, can be very unpleasant for infants. So be very mindful of your baby's attitude when nursing. If you continue ignoring these overfeeding baby symptoms, your baby may spend lesser and lesser time nursing and will only do so when he or she becomes very hungry. Infants who reach this stage may come to be dangerously dehydrated and may drastically lose weight. As a result, mothers may be forced to wean their infants at a very early age.

One of the best ways to preclude overfeeding your baby is to simply cut your milk supply. However, it is very leading to do this very gradually. You can start out by nursing your baby with only one breast per feeding session.

Feeding the baby with only one breast per feeding session gives him or her more hind milk. Hind milk is the last milk that comes out of the mother's breast, which has very high amounts of fats and calories. Decreasing the whole of milk per feeding session also prevents stomach distension and colic. This way, the milk goes through the baby's digestive principles at a quarterly speed and most of the nutrients are absorbed into the body.

If the above mentioned formula does not work, you can cut back on the feeding amounts even more. No matter how often your baby asks to be fed, you should feed your baby only once every three hours. But first, make sure that your baby has been diagnosed by a certified healing expert as an overweight and overfed baby before adapting this type of routine.

The Dangers of Giving Your Baby Cereal in a Bottle

Love Baby Love Sleep

Many parents have been adding cereal to their babies bottles with the hopes that baby will sleep great straight through the night or because they feel the baby is not getting sufficient to eat.

If you've heard the statements, "Add cereal to your babies bottle and he'll sleep for 5 hours" or "If your baby enduringly wants to nurse or seems hungry, add cereal to the bottle," know that those are myths and not facts.

Your baby gets sufficient cusine from breast milk or formula for the first 6 months of life. In fact, many healing experts agree that introducing cereal before 4 months of age can cause food allergies. Additionally, adding cereal to your babies bottle is a bad idea. Period.

Experts like Dr. Alan Greene, M.D. Believe that the sucking and swallowing actions are not fully coordinated in some children, which can lead to pulmonary problems because they can inhale small amounts of rice cereal in their lungs.

What other dangers are there with adding cereal to a babies bottle? For one thing, your child could very well be on the road to obesity. The extra calories in the cereal itself is sufficient to teach your child to overeat. When your child is at least 4 months of age, it is more convenient to introduce cereal by feeding your baby with a spoon. Not only does this teach them to learn to eat from a spoon, but it also allows them to rest in in the middle of and it helps the baby learn the allowable way to eat.

Well, what about your mother, and your grandmother, and your sister, and all those population who swear that adding cereal to a babies bottle will help them sleep and stay satisfied longer? Dr. Alan Greene, M.D. States, "I suspect the suspect is that kids do fall asleep a bit more quickly, and some babies may even go a bit longer in the middle of feedings. There is no scientific evidence, though, to sustain the claim that cereal in the bottle will help an baby growth total sleep or decrease crying."'

The American Academy of Pediatrics also advises against feeding a baby cereal from a bottle. The only time feeding a baby cereal in a bottle is when your Pediatrician recommends it to help with reflux.

Obesity. Food Allergies. Pulmonary problems. Bad eating habits. Those are all sufficient reasons to steer away from giving your baby a bottle of cereal. You may be happy you did.

Parenting Children: The Do's and Don'ts of Getting Your 3-5 Year Old to Sleep

Love Baby Love Sleep

Are you struggling with a toddler or preschooler who refuses to go to sleep?

Getting children to go to sleep is one of the most talked about issues that concern parents, second only to getting your child to behave. There have been parents in near hysterics, trying to deal with a child who throws huge tantrums when asked to go to sleep.

There are some things you can do to help your 3-5 year old go to sleep without too much trouble:

1. Do stick to a schedule.

It's tempting while summer break to ease up on bedtime routines and allow your child to go to sleep late. If done occasionally it doesn't gift a problem. However consistently allowing your child to dodge quarterly bedtimes creates confusion.

Persistent children will challenge bedtime, since it's their nature to push the envelope. Other children may feel insecure when routines aren't followed, and react with disruptive and unruly behavior.

If you rule to allow your children to stay up late occasionally, agenda it first. You can rule to let your kids go to sleep late once a week, and select a definite day.

2. Do ensue a consistent bedtime routine.

This is an distinct one, and many parents feel that they've got this base covered. The key to this, however, is giving over the accountability of carrying out the bedtime habit to your child.

Even if your child is as young as three years old, they're capable of following a chart with pictures, putting a seal on a photo when the activity is completed.

The magic of this lies in the fact that many children view bedtime as something imposed from the outside, causing them to rebel naturally because "Mommy told me to." Putting your child in fee as much as potential reduces this natural resistance.

3. Don't use incentives or prizes for going to sleep longer than 30 days.

Incentives and rewards are a great way of providing the extra push a child needs in order to endeavor a difficult task. The best way to use incentives is in helping your child to stick to a habit.

Since acquiring a habit takes about 30 days, this is the maximum estimate of time you should use prizes or incentives for a singular behavior.

4. Do allow your child a crutch, if they need it.

As long as the crutch isn't damaging to your child's health, go ahead and let your child sleep with all 25 cars in his car collection. It won't hurt him, and if he manages to go to sleep despite the space limitations, why not?

Most children discard such unusual sleeping arrangements when they get old sufficient to be embarrassed about it (usually by the age of 9 or so).

5. Reconsider using natural sleep aids or remedies.

There are numerous safe natural alternatives that will help your child rule down. Passiflora, for example, is safe for small children. It can be made into a soothing tea, and can help calm an overtired toddler or a too-full-of-energy preschooler. Lavender in a pillowcase has also been shown to promote sleep.

note: This is not medical advice, nor should it be taken as such. Use coarse sense, and ask your physician before you give anyone to your child.

6. Don't forget to try and make up for lost sleep yourself.

Living with a child who refuses to go to sleep can affect your work, health, and your marriage. While you may not be able to make up all of the sleep time you've lost, do try and "power nap" for 15 minutes or so sometime while the day.

Do you know what we discovered? We didn't de facto need much. He got perfectly clean when I bathed him in the bathroom sink and washed his hair with the kitchen sink hose.

At least some of that time you will want to put him/her down to tend to your own needs. Your baby's protection during that time is paramount. sleeping place - crib with mattress, conveyable crib, bassinet, Moses basket, or co-sleeper 2 mattress pads 3 fitted sheets 6-8 receiving blankets baby monitor a small fan for air circulation and white noise Traveling - whether it is across town or across the country - you will want to show off your baby (or at least re-stock on diapers). Traveling with a newborn is more involved than grabbing your keys and walking out the door, but you will be prepared for any trip if you have:

Baby Gas - My Baby Has Gas What Is The Best Baby Gas Relief?

Love Baby Love Sleep

All babies and infants have gas; some babies have more gas then others. It is general but it becomes a question if your baby is bothered by it and is in a lot of pain. Of procedure you want your baby to be happy and content.

Why Can Baby Gas Cause Pain?

Babies are born with a very adolescent gut. Most experts agree that for the first thirteen weeks, the newborn digestive principles is undoubtedly just learning to function. Newborns also lack the benevolent bacterial flora (probiotics) that form over time to aid digestion. Gas can originate gas pockets that get trapped in the upper and lower intestines. The gas acts like a cork and built-up pressure causes painful bloating and swelling of the stomach.

What can you do to help ease your baby`s gas pain?

Burping -

Make sure you burp your baby oftentimes while feeding; this will sell out the estimate of air in your baby`s stomach. Burping is good but it will probably not help your baby totally get rid of the gas. There is gas created in the intestines during your baby`s general digestion. The burping will not get rid of this gas.

Different ways of holding your baby -

Hold your baby with one hand, with his back against your stomach. With your free hand hold your baby`s one leg up so his/her knee is against his/her stomach. This will help your baby.
The football hold - hold your baby with face down resting her/his chin in your hand, on your forearm with baby`s legs straddling your elbow. Gentle pressure settled on your baby`s stomach can help baby`s gas.

Massage - Rub from ribcage to diaper one hand after the other, 15 times. Then bend baby`s legs to her/his stomach, count to 15. Then rub your baby`s stomach in a clockwise motion, 15 times. Bend baby`s legs to her/his stomach, count to 15. You can repeat this up to 3 times a day.

Bicycle move - Lay your baby on her/his back and move her/his legs like a bicycle. Make sure your baby lays on something soft and comfy.

Over-stimulation can sometimes cause baby gas. Do not over-stimulate your baby, it is Ok to say no to visitors (even if it is hard). Sometimes some quiet and peace is all your baby need to decrease the degree of gassiness and fussiness.

Sleep Routines - How to Adjust Your 1 Year Olds Sleep habit From 2 Sleeps to 1 and Stay Sane!

Love Baby Love Sleep

This is a of course coarse ask and it is all the time a great idea to know what to anticipate and how you are going to cope these transitions. I understand that while we know our children may need two sleeps a day (at around 6 to 12 months of age), they take up much of the day and can make appointments, activities and the school run for older children quite tricky. It is sensible any way to remember that while two sleeps may be sometimes inconvenient, your baby will make you pay if they are overtired or miss out on the sleep they need. That is why I love car capsules (for flexible transfers between the car and other locations for newborns) and encourage background noise on at home during sleeps, to enable your child to sleep straight through noise face the home.

So, how do we know when our 12 month old babies are ready to go from 2 sleeps to 1?

*Baby will start to refuse one or both day sleeps but not cope all day until the night sleep.

*or sacrifice both sleeps to around 30-45 minutes.

Once you can see this happening for about a week and you are convinced they are ready for 1 sleep, try the following:

*Decide on a sleep time and lock it in place. I propose 12 md. Remember you need to keep the sleep in the middle of the day so the baby can cope before and after the sleep until bedtime at around 7-7.30pm.

*Once you determine to turn to 1 sleep, it is leading to keep one sleep and not swap between 1 sleep sometimes and 2 sleeps at other times. Your baby's body clock needs time to adjust and needs consistency for this to happen.

*Even though you may have been convinced that your baby was ready for 1 sleep, they will whinge in the morning at around 9-10am when they used to have a morning sleep and appear tired. I call this a 'hump' that you need to distract your baby straight through (outside is best for fresh air) until they get their second wind and can stay up until 12 md.

*Your baby may whinge at 'hump' time for a few weeks to a few months until their body clock adjusts to the 1 sleep. Remember that if you allow 2 sleeps to creep in sometimes you will delay the baby coping with the morning and not whinging.

*Baby will probably have lunch at 11.30am.

*Avoid 'power naps' of a minimum of 10 minutes sleep when travelling in the car or the stroller if at all possible in the mornings. A power nap will preclude your baby sleeping at lunchtime and originate a monster to deal with until bedtime.

Tip: Remember that your baby needs to earn their sleep with physical activity, No Tv in the morning and great healthy family meals. Your baby should be so tired that they are begging you to go to sleep! If not, they haven't earned their sleep and have spent too much time sitting in something (a stroller, play pen, swing, shopping trolley, walker).

gravidity - When Can You Know the Baby's Gender?

Love Baby Love Sleep

As soon as some body is pregnant in the family or neighborhood, there would be a lot of venture concerning the gender of the baby. The lady herself as well as her husband along with other family members would be eager to know whether the baby is a boy or a girl. If you ask the inquire why it is required to know the sex of the baby before its birth, there is no singular answer. Somebody would be interested out of mare curiosity; somebody might want to plan for its dresses beforehand. But there are some other reasons also. In the developing countries like India, a lot of people do not want a girl child due to some collective reason. Some of these reasons are (1) high financial burden for the marriage of a girl child, (2) it is believed that only a boy child would carry the family tradition to the time to come generation, (3) after marriage a girl child goes out of the family but a boy would remain in the family. There are many more reasons but these three are sufficient to have a desire of only a boy child. Some people might go for an abortion in case of a baby of their undesired sex that is why in India sex identification during pregnancy is made illegal.

How to rule the sex of your baby during pregnancy?

Most often it is found that people are speculating based on some old wives tale which are not supported by the curative science. Some of these tales are stated below.

If the baby is a girl then the mom would be seeing uglier during the pregnancy.

If you have terrible morning sickness, it is a girl.

If you sleep on your left side, it is a boy. If you sleep on the right, it is a girl.

If you do not look pregnant from behind and carry low and all in front, it is a boy.

If you are carrying wide and in your hips, it is a girl.

The scientific method

As I told before that these are all old wives tale and do not have a scientific base. The most dependable scientific recipe which is generally used for sex estimation during pregnancy is the ultra sound method.

When we can know the sex of our baby?

The best time to know the sex of your baby is between 18 - 22 week of pregnancy. Earlier than that will be difficult to recognize the sex of the baby due to the insufficient increase and later than that would be also difficult because of crowding in the uterus.

Care of Wild Baby Mice

Love Baby Love Sleep

If for some guess wild baby mice have been placed in your care, I have included a few tips on caring and feeding to help you give them a opening at life. Please be aware that even in the wild, mice have a 50% opening of surviving beyond 5 months of age, given a normal upbringing. The mice that do make it can live up to nearby 5 years if healthy. A pair will have a better opening of survival than a lone mouse.

As soon as you have your baby mice, it is prominent to keep them safe and warm. You can use a small pet carrier, large plastic tub or any other convenient box in which you can put them. Layer the bottom with a towel and place the mice on top. Then, use another soft material to lightly cover the mice like fleece. Place the box in a warm place, ensuring that it isn't hot; otherwise the mice will become dehydrated. A heater on the bottom setting may be all that is needed. Test the towel the mice are laying on so that it feels cosy and warm to your hand.

If the baby mice are less than 14 days old they will need dropper fed with a milk substitute until they are weaned. They usually open their eyes when they are just about weaned and able to eat by themselves. You will need to feed them every 2 hours so be ready to get up while the night. Set your alarm. When I was looking after wild mice, I was getting up every 2 hours to check them. I have since read that while the night mom mouse would be away looking for food and may only return to the nest once to feed her babies. Use tasteless sense, if you can conduct a few night feeds, all the best for the babies opening of survival, especially in the early days.

Kitten milk is ready to buy at pet shops. I used raw coconut blended up and strained. It should be 1 cup coconut to about 2 and ½ cups water. You could also use soaked almonds to make an almond milk using the same ratios. Make sure the nuts are natural and plain. Once you've made up the milk, store in a sterilised glass jar and keep in the fridge until required. When you go to feed the mice, take a quarter a cup of the milk and warm it up by pouring it in a small jug and standing in hot water. Use a dropper or baby syringe (you can get these at the chemist) to feed 1 or 2 drops of the milk at a time into the baby mouse mouth. When the mice are truly young, they might not open their mouth. Be specific not to get the milk up their noses, they will splutter/cough if you do. It can be dangerous for their condition if you do. The way I fed the mice was to put a facecloth down on a table and to put one mouse at a time onto it. Then you can slowly hold the baby's head whilst you administer the milk with the dropper. You'll get the hang of it with a bit of practise. The baby might not seem to be taking much milk, don't worry. Very young babies may only need to get a drop or 2 on their mouth/tongues until they can take more. The main purpose here is to keep them hydrated with a dinky drop at a time every combine of hours.

Once the baby is fed, you need to stimulate a bowel movement. To do this, put some warm water in a small bowl and dip a cotton bud into it. Then, put the cotton bud in the middle of the baby's back legs and slowly turn the bud around. You should see a dinky brown staining, that is their poo. Dip the other end of the bud into the water and slowly stroke the baby's body, this emulates the mom licking them. After all that, tuck baby up in it's soft bedding and place in a warm spot. This is the basic routine that needs to be repeated every combine of hours while the day and at least 2-3 times while the night, especially nearby 1am and 5am.

As you can see, it's quite a commitment, looking after baby wild mice. But, there is also a great bonus in the caring of them and the bonding you will feel as a carer.

When the babies start to open their eyes or at least take a peak, they may be taking a lot more milk and starting to walk nearby a little. This is when you need to be extra careful; one fall is sufficient to be fatal. You can make a dinky safe roaming area in the bottom part of a pet cage or shoebox/basin. Line it with newspaper and leaves to simulate a natural environment. The youngsters will enjoy stretching their legs and taking their first steps. This is important, as it will build up their muscles and strength.

Once the babies start to bite your fingers quite firmly when you feed them, they may be ready for a dinky solid food. They will also be starting to open their eyes (12-14 days old) Start very slowly with this. Try some baby fruit puree to start or natural rice pudding. The food should not be chilled. Let them lick it off your finger. Avoid putting the purees onto a dish for the mice to feed from, as they might get messy and end up with matted fur, which needs to be avoided. Some other foods to graduate to are porridge, banana, tomato, dried oat flakes, strawberry. Just go real easy with the food and keep it simple and truly digested to start with. Congratulations! You've truly made it to the weaning stage, which is quite something with wild baby mice.

Continue to provide a safe space for the mice to sleep and once weaned, they will be able to come out at night to feed. Give them a dinky dish near their bed so they can feed while the night. At least you can get some sleep now! Continue to offer the milk while the day and provide some water for them. Usually, wild mice will still have some mothers milk up to about 4 weeks of age.

Now you have to conclude either to keep them or issue into the wild. I don't know how many mice have been successfully hand-reared and released into the wild. I would think it unlikely that they can survive. However, you've done your bit and if they seem strong and wholesome and quite active, it might be inherent to issue them. Or, you can keep them as pets.

Finally, if you did your best and the mice died, don't feel bad. Survival chances in the best of conditions i.e. With their natural mom are still low. Just enjoy the contact you've had with them and the opening to get a espy into their dinky lives. They are dinky bundles of love and it is overwhelming to have at least given them some love when otherwise they might have perished.
